Relationship Classes
(And Other Lifestyle Topics)
Single Classes (1 - 1.5 hours)
Chronic Pain & Kink – 1.5 hours
Living with chronic pain can be anything from a mild nuisance one must deal with every day up to something that is downright crippling. How do you make adjustments for conditions like that in not only S&M play, but regular life within a D/s dynamic? As someone living with Fibromyalgia, I'll cover things from what it is like to live with chronic pain to what it is like to live with someone who has it. There will also be information given out that can help turn a disability into something that makes a relationship stronger.
Living with Chronic Pain
(Part 1 of Chronic Pain & Kink Series) – 1 to 1.5 hours
Chronic pain makes everyday life feel unmanageable and at times downright hopeless. This class will cover how we put control back into the hands of those with chronic pain conditions. We'll cover the what's, how's, and why's of living with pain, as well as how our loved ones can be of assistance. So come on out with your questions and an open mind. Together our shared experience, strength, and hope can make a world of difference.
Getting Kinky with Chronic Pain
(Part 2 of Chronic Pain & Kink Series) –1 to 1.5 hours
After covering what it is like to live with chronic pain, we'll now cover what it is like to add kink into the mix. How do we use pain to build a stronger d/s dynamic with our partner? How do we make adjustments so play isn't interrupted by bad pain? We'll cover all this and more, including pain from both sides of the slash. As with "Living with Chronic Pain," questions and stories are welcome!
Home Health Service D/s – 1.5 hours
When you deal with chronic pain / disability, even the smallest tasks can feel monumental, but having extra help makes a world of difference. In this class we'll talk about what it means to anticipate (or predict) the needs and wants of our partner(s), rather than solely being reactionary, essentially making yourself a pseudo-home health care person for your partner. We'll cover exercises you can do to improve your perception to notice situations before they become a problem and critical thinking skills so you can provide the best solution at a moment's notice. A portion of the class will also include a brainstorming session where participants will be able to use fellow classmates as a sounding board to improve their anticipatory service skills (on both sides of the slash). Bring a fresh notebook for this class as you're sure to want to make your own mock-up for later! (Stickers, bright colored pens, and sticky notes are encouraged as well)
BDSM 101 aka “Welcome to Kink!” –1.5 hours
Congrats! You’ve found the exciting world of BDSM. Perhaps you read about it in a book, saw it in a video, or heard about it from some friends. Something about it intrigued you, whether it was just a few days ago or years ago, and now you’re looking for more. This class will cover the very basics of BDSM and what a public dungeon is like; a great primer for those just starting out and wanting to explore. This class finishes off with a Q&A session, perfect for those questions you’re just dying to ask.
Consent 101 - 1.5 hours
Consent. It's sexy. It's mandatory. Whatever the catchphrase, consent in kink is the difference between adults having fun together and abuse. Join us for an in-depth look at consent: what it is, and what it isn't. We'll cover negotiating styles, safewords, what to do when things go wrong, and how to support your communities and consent positive culture. While we'll attempt to keep the class as objective as possible, we will be discussing abuse and rape so please take whatever self care steps you need to feel comfortable.
Let's Make A Deal: Scene Negotiation - 1.5 hours
Whether you're brand new or an experienced player, setting up your first scene or your hundredth, negotiation is vital for hammering out the details of what you plan to do in scene as well as the before and after activities (like aftercare). In addition to covering inclusive vs exclusive negotiation styles, we'll also discuss what information is relevant, how much should be disclosed, and what can be kept to yourself. We'll also take a look at a number of negotiation checklists so you can figure out which style works best for you and your communication methods so you're least likely to have miscommunication issues later.
Enhanced Language Skills For Kink - 1.5 hours
Often times when we think of "language" people stop at the spoken word, leaving out a whole wide range of communication tools. From the written word to body language, sign language to additional spoken languages, there's so many benefits to expanding our language skills and applying them to kink. Come with an open mind as we explore alternatives for the dungeon / bedroom, relationship protocols, and more!
Identity Lifeboat – 1.5 hours
Feeling lost in a sea of identifiers? Maybe you just aren’t sure where you fit, or perhaps you’re wondering why we need 51 gender identities on social media, or you know for a fact that labels are bad and we just need to cast them all away! This class will cover information about a wide range of identifiers, how we use them, and why they’re important in our daily lives. We’ll also get your creative juices going a bit so you leave with more than just a theoretical understanding of how identity works.
Relationship Communication Skills –1.5 hours
Ever wonder how to get the most from your relationship? Do you watch other relationships and think to yourself “that’s what I want! How do I get that?”
Whether you're starting a new relationship, or maintaining an existing one, this class is for you! We’ll cover skills that can help when your relationship feels like it’s going south, as well as keep you flying high when things are great. You’ll learn effective communication skills, how to get what you need (and want), and so much more. Be sure to bring a pen and a notepad as this class is sure to cover lots of information!
Service Antici...pation
Aside from Dr. Frank-N-Furter from "Rocky Horror Picture Show," what do you think of when you hear the word "anticipation?" In this class we'll talk about what it means to anticipate (or predict) the needs and wants of our partner(s) rather than solely being reactionary. (Stickers, bright colored pens, and sticky notes are encouraged as well)
Documenting and Communicating Needs and Wants - 1.5 hours
Looking for ways to better communicate with your partner(s)? This class is all about the "Needs and Wants List" and just how complex this seemingly simple document can be. We'll delve into better understanding the difference between "needing" and "wanting" something, along with how to relay both to your partner(s). We'll also cover additional categories that I add to my Needs and Wants Lists that really turn this document into the Swiss army knife of documents. Class will also include a practical exercise where you'll work with classmates to start your own Needs and Wants List to complete later.
Butler Books: Getting It All Together - 1.5 hours
Ever wonder how the butler always knows everything in movies? Or perhaps do you envy the organizational skills of media's best personal assistants? In this class we'll cover the tips and tricks to get it all done using butler books! This handy tool can help you organize everything from day to day activities to special events and even household chores. Bring a fresh notebook for this class as you're sure to want to make your own mock-up for later! (Stickers, bright colored pens, and sticky notes are encouraged as well)
Let's Make It Official! –1.5 hours
Do you have a paperwork fetish? Do you feel that writing things down makes them more official? Want to work that into your relationship? This class is perfect for you! We'll talk about letters of intent and introduction, needs and wants lists, contracts, and other paperwork that you and your partner(s) can do to add that little "official" extra to your life.
From Girl to Ma’am – 1.5 hours
Ever wonder what it takes to be a “Female Dominant?” The answer is seemingly quite simple: 1. identify as “female” and 2. identify as “dominant.” Is it really that easy in practice though? As someone who started out in the lifestyle as a switch in the submissive role and gradually transitioned into a solely dominant role, I’ll share with you what that journey was like for me. We’ll discuss both the hardships associated with redefining yourself and the rewards in finding your own strength through confidence. While the class is geared towards those wishing to identify as dominant, the content we’ll cover may help any woman hoping to boost her confidence and feel more comfortable in her own skin.
“No Isn’t a Safeword” – 1.5 hours
Whether you’re brand new to the lifestyle, or a public scene regular for the past 20 years, safewords have become a staple in showing consent based activity in BDSM. They give players a safe way to practice consensual non-consent, and give a method for people in public spaces to intervene in scenes that have gone sour. What else comes along with safewords though? How have they affected the way in which we play, and the mentality around them?
What happens when “no” doesn’t mean “no” anymore?
Lifestyle Linguistics –1.5 hours
In a lifestyle that boasts self-discovery we as kinksters use a variety of terms, honorifics, labels, descriptors, and identifiers to find and portray ourselves. The goal of this class is to cover the what, when, why, and how of using language to identify and describe ourselves as well as those around us. We’ll also cover some of the major complications and difficulties that come along with the words we use, and how to be more cognizant of the effect they have on ourselves and others.
Ace in the Whole - 1.5 hours
Demisexual. Grey. Biromantic. Androgynoromantic. As we explore sexuality further, we find that there is an entire vocabulary related to not just sex, but also the lack thereof; but what do they all mean? "Ace in the Whole" is all about learning the Asexual spectrum, the terms, what they mean, and how they might pertain to you or someone you know.
Bridging the Age Gap - 1.5 hours
Decades ago, before the time of the internet and swiping left or right to find a date, long before “50 Shades” took social media by storm, the world of kink and BDSM looked vastly different than the one we see today. Skills that used to take years to master in private parties are now researched and absorbed in a matter of moments thanks to today’s information sharing capabilities. When these two worlds come together though, the TNG (18-35 year olds) and the TOG (40+ year olds), they often seem to mix like oil and water. In this class we’ll discuss why this happens and how to bridge the gaps between the two generations. This class is sure to spark lots of conversation so come out with an open mind!
Rule #1 : Self-Care for All -1.5 hours
We've all heard of "Rule #1" aka "Take Care of the Property." Commonly it is assumed that this rule applies just to those on the right side of the slash: submissives, slaves, etc.. Contrary to that idea, self-care is an important aspect for people on all sides of the slash, but how do we take care of ourselves? What do we actually NEED in life, how do we make sure those needs are met, and where do things go from there? As much as we all think we're 10ft tall and bulletproof, the universe quite often tends to disagree.

Intensives (2.5 - 3 hours)
Getting Kinky With Chronic Pain and Disability
Living with chronic pain and disabilities can be anything from a mild nuisance one must deal with every day up to something that is downright crippling. Add to that the idea of physical activity involved in sex and/or kink activity and you end up with one daunting task; so how do we feel sexy and desired during this time? Not only will we cover how to keep that spark, we'll also cover ways to express ourselves and communicate in regards to our needs, wants, and desires, as well as the requests for adjustments related to our chronic pain and dis/ability status.
Speaking of adjustments and making accommodations, how do we do that in public play spaces and conventions without drawing unwanted attention or feeling like we're asking too much of our hosts? We'll discuss common problems in play spaces, ways we can talk to our local space owners about creating accommodations, and subtle ways we can make play possible when we're in temporary spaces.
Lastly, we'll have time to share stories about our own successes and learning opportunities regarding any number of other chronic pain and disability related problems. As someone living with Fibromyalgia, I'll cover things from what it is like to live with chronic pain to what it is like to live with someone who has it; I'll also talk about what it's like personally to be the dominant partner of someone with their own chronic pain and disability issues. There will also be information given out that can help turn a disability into something that makes a relationship stronger from both sides of the slash.
How To Be A Dungeon Monitor
Interested in working at your local dungeon/event? Need to find staff for your place? Join us for an intensive all about what it takes to be a dungeon monitor. As someone who has volunteer at their local dungeon roughly 16+ hours a week, 52 weeks a year, for nearly 12 years, I've seen just about everything and want to help you be the best DM you can be, or how to find and train the best ones you can.
We'll discuss needs of the physical dungeon space, whether it's a permanent one, a regular takeover event, or the occasional party. In the time of covid it's important to also take into account how to keep staff and customers as safe as we can while monitoring the usual needs of the dungeon such as where does the line of customer service vs safety fall for your space and surrounding municipalities.
Next we'll cover general DM training: what to watch for, when to step in, and when to leave people be. Also, how do we make up the difference between customers who know more than the staff, setting aside ego, and best practices for continuing education and growth. The class will contain plenty of time to share stories, ask "what if" questions, and compare practices, so make sure to bring a method to take notes!
Relationship Communication Skills
Ever wonder how to get the most from your relationship? Do you watch other relationships and think to yourself “that’s what I want! How do I get that?” Whether you're starting a new relationship, or maintaining an existing one, this class is for you!
We’ll cover skills that can help when your relationship feels like it’s going south, as well as keep you flying high when things are great. You’ll learn effective communication skills, how to get what you need (and want), and so much more. We'll also discuss skills related to making sure that you're not just listening (or being listened to) but actually understanding the conversation, even when things get heated, so no one is left feeling unheard.
Next we'll discuss negotiation skills and why it's important for more than just setting up scenes for play. While negotiation for play is still vital to effective and fulfilling scenes, it's just as important for our relationships, an area where negotiating is commonly overlooked due to assumptions.
Lastly the class will explore the concepts of time/timing and self-reflection. Though we can't make time stop, we can do better about making effective use of what we have, the same being true of self-reflection and self-care.
Be sure to bring a pen and a notepad as this class is sure to cover lots of information!
Adding Structure To Your Relationship(s) Through Paperwork Fetishism
Do you have a paperwork fetish? Does the idea of writing things down, making them "more official," give you a burst of excitement and a twinkle in your eyes? This class is perfect for you!
First we'll cover two types of letters: Letters of Introduction, and Letters of Intent. While both can be very similar in that they offer a means of introducing yourself and your goals to another person, once you understand the differences in function and when they're used it'll be hard to mix them up again.
Next, we'll discuss the more commonly known "Needs and Wants List" and just how complex this seemingly simple document can be. During this time we'll delve into gaining a better understanding between the difference of needing and wanting something, along with how to relay both to your partner(s). We'll also cover additional categories that I add to my Needs and Wants Lists that really turn this document into the swiss army knife of documents.
Lastly, have you ever wondered how the butler always knows everything in movies? Or perhaps do you envy the organizational skills of media's best personal assistants? In this last section of the class we'll cover the tips and tricks to get it all done using butler books! This handy tool can help you organize everything from day to day activities to special events and even household chores. Bring a fresh notebook for this class as you're sure to want to make your own mock-up for later! (Stickers, bright colored pens, and sticky notes are encouraged as well)
Bridging the Age Gap in Kink Communities
Decades ago, before the time of the internet and swiping left or right to find a date, long before “50 Shades” took social media by storm, the world of kink and BDSM looked vastly different than the one we see today. Skills that used to take years to master in private parties are now researched and absorbed in a matter of moments thanks to today’s information sharing capabilities. When these two worlds come together though, the TNG (18-35 year olds) and the TOG (40+ year olds), they often seem to mix like oil and water.
In this class we’ll discuss why this happens and how to bridge the gaps between the two generations by starting with an examination of preconceived notions of ageism that get ingrained in us through common societal interactions. We'll continue to examine ageist ideas within us all with a comparison of generational differences and how they affect our mentality towards other generations, and the effect that has on our interactions within kink communities.
The class will finish off with a discussion about personal experiences, ways we overcame ageism, as well as learning moments, and how we can be most effective in fixing these situations so that all sides will engage in the conversation.
This class is sure to spark lots of conversation so come out with an open mind!
